This 10 Days Uganda Safari Holiday covers six of Uganda's greatest parks in one itinerary that earns the title. It tracks endangered rhinos at Ziwa Sanctuary, chases the Nile over the edge of Murchison Falls, follows chimpanzees through the cathedral forest of Kibale, and ends face-to-face with a mountain gorilla silverback deep inside Bwindi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In between, tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and a walking safari at Lake Mburo round out one of the most complete wildlife itineraries in East Africa.
Uganda rewards the curious. Between the big wildlife moments you'll cruise the Kazinga Channel shoulder-to-shoulder with a thousand hippos, meet the Batwa (the original forest dwellers of Bwindi), and watch the sun set from the calm terraced shores of Lake Bunyonyi. Every day is different; every destination earns its place on the route.
Prefer fewer days without sacrificing the gorillas? The 7 Days Primates & Wildlife Safari pairs Kibale and Bwindi in a week. For a fly-in version that skips the long drives, see the 10 Days Northern Circuit Uganda Safari. Or if gorillas are the whole point, the 5 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari gets you there faster.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your guide meets you at Entebbe Airport and transfers you to your lodge. Settle in, enjoy dinner, and let the anticipation build. Uganda's wild heartland begins tomorrow.
Entebbe Meals: Bed & Breakfast Overnight: Airport Guesthouse
Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track Uganda's only wild southern white rhinos on foot, a herd of 32 that grew from just six introduced in 2006. Then push on to Murchison Falls, where the entire force of the Victoria Nile squeezes through a 7-metre gap and explodes 40 metres below. Elephants, giraffes, Nile crocodiles, and the rare shoebill stork await.
Murchison Falls National Park Meals: Full Board Overnight: Pakuba Safari Lodge
A dawn game drive through the northern savannah puts you among lions, buffaloes, and giraffes before the day heats up. In the afternoon, a three-hour boat cruise follows the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, where hippos surface within touching distance and the falls thunder overhead. They don't call it the Devil's Cauldron for nothing.
Murchison Falls National Park Meals: Full Board Overnight: Pakuba Safari Lodge
Arrive at Kibale, home to Africa's highest concentration of primates, and spend your afternoon at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The swamp walk turns up red colobus monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, and the jewel-coloured Great Blue Turaco. A village walk follows: watch coffee being processed, banana beer brewed, and baskets woven by hand.
Kibale National Park Meals: Full Board Overnight: Kibale Tourist Safari Lodge
Trek into Kibale Forest with a ranger guide in search of habituated chimpanzees. When you find them (and you will), spend a full hour watching them swing through the canopy, groom each other, and play. It's loud, chaotic, and completely unforgettable. Afternoon transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Queen Elizabeth National Park Meals: Full Board Overnight: Buffalo Safari Lodge
Morning game drives reveal elephants, buffaloes, and leopards on the Kasenyi Plains. In the afternoon, the Kazinga Channel boat cruise delivers something extraordinary: the world's largest concentration of hippos on a single waterway, plus hundreds of Nile monitors and a dazzling parade of water birds.
Queen Elizabeth National Park Meals: Full Board Overnight: Buffalo Safari Lodge
Drive south through the Ishasha sector, scanning the flat-topped fig trees for Uganda's famous tree-climbing lions, the only lions in East Africa known to lounge in branches. Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Tonight, you sleep inside the forest.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Meals: Full Board Overnight: Buhoma Lodge
The centrepiece of the entire safari. Trek through dense rainforest with expert guides until you find a habituated gorilla family, watch a silverback rest, juveniles play, and mothers nurse their young. You have one hour with them. Most guests say it passes in what feels like five minutes. Afternoon transfer to peaceful Lake Bunyonyi.
Lake Bunyonyi Meals: Full Board Overnight: Bunyonyi Rock Resort
A slow morning on the terraced shores of Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa's deepest and most beautiful lakes, before driving to Lake Mburo via the Igongo Cultural Museum in Mbarara. The museum brings Uganda's royal Ankole heritage to life. Optional night game drive on arrival.
Lake Mburo National Park Meals: Full Board Overnight: Rwakobo Rock
Lake Mburo's walking safari is the perfect send-off. It's the only park in Uganda where impalas roam, and one of few where you can walk among zebras, giraffes, and topis on foot. A ranger leads the way. Then it's on to the Uganda Equator for a final photo stop before the drive to Entebbe and your outbound flight.
