5 Days Murchison Falls & Budongo Safari
5 days are built around Murchison Falls, Uganda's largest national park and the dramatic place where the Nile is squeezed through a gorge just a few metres wide before crashing into the pool below. The route opens with on-foot white rhino tracking at Ziwa, the only place to see them in the wild in Uganda, then settles into the park for Big Five game drives across the northern plains and a boat cruise to the very foot of the falls.
A longer cruise through the papyrus channels of the Nile Delta offers one of the country's best chances of the rare shoebill stork, before a final morning tracking chimpanzees in the great mahogany forest of Budongo. For the parks in more depth, browse the Uganda destination guide.
Have more time? The 11 Days Classic Uganda Wildlife Safari folds Murchison into a full country circuit with gorillas and chimpanzees, while the 12 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari adds the mountain gorillas of Bwindi.
