Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Entebbe, Welcome to the Pearl of Africa
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport you are met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax and recover from your journey while enjoying the peaceful lakeside atmosphere of Entebbe.
Day 2
Mabamba Birding and a Lake Victoria Sunset
Begin your adventure with an early morning birding excursion to the renowned Mabamba wetlands, one of Africa's premier birdwatching destinations and among the best places to find the elusive shoebill stork. In the evening you unwind with a scenic sunset cruise on the tranquil waters of Lake Victoria, a beautiful introduction to Uganda's natural splendour.
Day 3
Journey to Kibale National Park
After breakfast you depart for Kibale National Park, a lush tropical rainforest famous for hosting the highest concentration of primates in Africa. The scenic drive offers views of tea plantations, rolling hills and traditional rural communities before you arrive to settle in and enjoy the forest at leisure.
Day 4
Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Community
After breakfast and a briefing at the park headquarters, venture into Kibale Forest in search of a habituated chimpanzee community, observing these fascinating primates feed, play and communicate in their natural habitat. Later in the afternoon a guided visit to the Bigodi Community offers an insight into local culture, conservation and daily life in western Uganda.
Day 5
Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast you transfer to the airstrip for a scheduled domestic flight to Bwindi, with spectacular aerial views of Uganda's diverse landscapes along the way. On arrival you are met and transferred to your lodge nestled within the misty hills, with the remainder of the day to relax and prepare for the highlight of your safari.
Day 6
Gorilla Trekking, a Once-in-a-Lifetime Encounter
Following an early breakfast and a briefing, you enter the ancient rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family, led by experienced trackers through dense vegetation and rugged terrain. Once found, you spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge to reflect on an unforgettable day.
Day 7
Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast amid the tranquil forest surroundings before transferring to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Entebbe, where you connect with your onward departure, closing an unforgettable Ugandan primate adventure.
