8 Days Primates and Wildlife Safari

The 8 Days Primates and Wildlife Safari delivers Africa's three most sought-after primate encounters in a single itinerary: chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, a Kazinga Channel boat cruise through Queen Elizabeth National Park, the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha, and back-to-back primate trekking to finish: mountain gorillas in Bwindi and golden monkeys in Mgahinga. The journey concludes in Kigali, Rwanda, for a reflective visit to the Genocide Memorial.

Between the headline moments, the details are what make this safari memorable. A Bigodi Swamp Walk on arrival reveals 13 primate species and over 200 bird species. The Kasenyi Plains offer reliable lion and leopard sightings. The drive through Ishasha's ancient fig forest is beautiful whether or not the lions are up the trees. Luxury and mid-range lodge options mean the experience scales to your budget without sacrificing the wildlife.

Prefer to focus purely on gorillas for a shorter trip? The 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari is the most direct route to Bwindi. For the ultimate cross-border safari, the 10 Days Volcanoes Expedition Safari adds Rwanda's Virunga volcanoes to the primate encounters.
