Children under 15 years are not permitted to trek with chimpanzees per Uganda Wildlife Authority regulations. However, they can enjoy a guided educational forest walk — an age-appropriate introduction to Kibale's incredible biodiversity that children genuinely love.
The trek itself varies depending on where the chimps are that day — it can take 30 minutes to 3 hours to locate them. Once found, you spend up to one hour observing. Plan for a half-day activity in total.
A moderate level of fitness is recommended. The forest terrain can be uneven and steep in places. If you have any concerns, let us know and we'll tailor the experience accordingly.
